Bird Flower Fish | Hosta | Hosta or Plantain Lily is native to Japan, China and Korea. They grow in groups and are distinguished by vast array of leaf shapes, textures and cues. The young plant has the diameter of 1-2 inches, while the mature one is capable to reach up to 48 inches.

The flowering time is from early to late summer.

Plantain Lily produces bloom stalks right from the center of the plant. The long blossoms have the shape of bells. They can be seen in such colors as white, lavender or purple. At the end of the growing period the Plantain Lily’s leaves dies off leaving just little remains.

These perennial flowering plants got their popularity as foliage one grown in shady places and containers. The plant is hypersensitive to some pests; thus, in some areas, slugs or deer may become problematic to it.
